Burn the Ships

Not in a dramatic, all-or-nothing way. But in the moment you realise… you can’t go back.

The phrase is often linked to Hernán Cortés who destroyed his ships so there was no option to retreat. No plan B. Just commitment to what’s ahead. For me, it looked a bit less dramatic. But just as real.

A few weeks ago, I resigned from my corporate role.

Not because anything was wrong. But because something in me had shifted and I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

During my yoga teacher training in Bali, I chose a card during the Heart Opening Workshop: DETACHMENT. From the version of life I thought I should be living.

So I made myself a promise: to be detached from how others - or society - expect me to live my life.

And I made another promise, to my yoga teacher: to always do the things that scare me. This is me doing exactly that. This is me burning the ships.

I’m stepping away to travel, to create space, and to bring my dream about coaching and yoga to life.

And if I’m honest: I’M SCARED. Scared of the uncertainty. Of not knowing exactly how things will unfold. But at the same time - I feel excited in a way I haven’t felt in a long time.

FREE. ALIVE. HAPPY. Like the world just got a little bit bigger again.

I don’t have everything mapped out. But I trust that this is the direction I’m meant to explore right now. Maybe “burning the ships” isn’t about having no fear - but about choosing to move forward with it.

If you’re in a phase where you’re questioning things, feeling that pull, or thinking about doing something that scares you - you’re not alone.

And if any of this resonates: whether you’re navigating something similar, curious about coaching, or just looking for a travel buddy somewhere in the world - I'd love to chat 🤍
